Celebrating the birthday of Sri Rama

Sri Rama Navami is a Hindu festival celebrated throughout India. This festival is the celebration of the Birth Day of Lord Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who was born for the destruction of the demon king Ravana. This day is observed for Prayers and chanting the name of Lord Rama. Often people abstain from consuming any cooked food and the only food allowed on this day , considered to be the beginning of Summer are

Panakam – Made from Lime juice , Cardamom and Jaggery

Buttermilk – Yogurt , Ginger and Coriander , Salt

Kosambari – Cucumber , Soaked Lentils( Moong ) , Green Chillies , Coriander , Salt , Grated Coconut ( for garnishing )

A day well spent with family and friends and signing off with a prayer for a life filled with peace , joy and togetherness!
