In continuation to my earlier post on experimenting with the Raw Bananas ( Raw Banana Cutlets ) , , here is an extremely simple recipe that is a great dish to nibble on.
We had a bowl of chips along side the Coffee table and a Pretend Play Tea party with the kids The memory was beautiful and that made this dish that much more special to me.
Usually the wafers / chips turn out to be crispy with the deep frying. The baked version may sound more cliche’d. Nevertheless i’m glad I tried this one out.
Here’s how it works:
1 ) 1 Raw Banana
2 ) Salt for seasoning
3 ) 1 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder ( Optional ). You can vary this with pepper powder.
4 ) 2 teaspoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Wash and peel the outer skin of the Raw Banana.Cut the Banana into equal halves. Use the peeler top down to get thin layers of the Raw Banana. Once you have thin layers of the Banana , soak them in water to avoid them turning dark.
In a plate , mix the Extra Virgin Olive Oil , salt and chili powder. Remove the Raw Banana wafers from the water , pour the oil mixture on top of it and mix them well to incorporate the contents well.
Pre-heat the oven at 180 degrees. Bake them for about 15 minutes /or until they turn brown.
Serve them with a good Mayo Dip , Yogurt or Salsa.
